VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

The VOLUNTEERS will have the experience of being with the nature, and with our Inca’s culture like: Medicine’s secrets, architecture, ( buildings and churches’ constructions ), its agriculture, customs, and clothing. And they will see the deepest canyon on the World (The Colca Canyon).

Every Visit that you do includes a percentage to our work projects for the children, teenagers and women to alleviate the poverty.

 

 

TEACHING OF ENGLISH LANGUAGE

The job of volunteer as an English teacher ( It’s not necessary to know Spanish), because these places don’t have English Teachers, we consider that is very important to learn this language to communicate with people from another countries to know about their culture, you will have the opportunity to learn Spanish. We only need you to have the interest to help to people that need and wait for you.

 

TEACHING OF SPORTS

Doing sports is funny for all child and another games that allow them to express better, because they are shy boys. Many children don't have this opportunity because we know their parents have them work from a very young age, because of the extreme poverty, but we are confident to become a good team a help them out.

TEACHING OF ORATORY, DANCE AND MUSIC

It’s not necessary to be an artist or a good speaker or musician, however we know that you have a lot to offer about your culture, a song or a dance that we’ll make the children happy.

Our main objective is to soften, in some way, the extreme poverty and improve the quality of life of these people, especially children, who are living in extreme poverty condition.

 

VOLUNTEERING

The fee for participating in the volunteer program and thus, support our efforts to supply the office. This money is used to pay for the rent, staff, electricity, water services, internet connection, etc. It’s $50.00 American dollars.

When you sign in for 2 days of volunteering, you’ll pay this money to the office plus $20.00 for transport, lunch and a souvenier from the project.

Volunteers who wish to helps us can stay with us for a week or two or even more weeks.

The length of the volunnteering can be extended for as long as you wish; for instance: a month or so. The project is very flexible with your time.

WORK SCHEDULE

Working at the project is only a couple of hours a day, let’s say for four or 3 hours, so that you can get more free time to take some spanish lessons, practice it with the locals, weekends are free so you’ll have plenty of time to do a lot of sightseeing both in and in the outside of the city, go hiking, treking, book trips to other tourist attractions, all in all, it’s all up to you. When you book your tours through us, part of the money you pay for it will go to help support the project, not only that, but you’ll also find restaurants, cafes, clubs etc which will donate part of the money you spend in those places to the project.

NOTE: The project does not include meals, it only includes lunch for the first day of your stay.

  • 10:00 am - Time of arriving to Santa Teresa Project.
  • 10:15 am - Introduction of the program to develop.
  • 10:45 am - Begin daily tasks and work asigned.
  • 12:30 pm - Break time or volunteers and children.
  • 1:30 pm - End of break and back to work.
  • 3:00 pm - End of work. Lunch time and relax.
  • 4:30 pm - Check children's learning by playing games with them.
  • 4:45 pm - Return to Arequipa's Centre.
  • 6:00 pm - Meet up at VOLUNTEER PERU'S office to thank you and to receive your presents.

Some of your time or some extra cash your are willingly to give is all these children and people need to feel loved and protected. It’ll be an unforgettable experience, being able to say that you did something for them.
